Proace Van prepares for world debut in Birmingham
Toyota will take the wraps off its new Proace Van at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham next week. The new model will be sharing the spotlight with the all-new Hilux, appearing in Europe for the first time. Read more here.

Silverstone silverware
Toyota got its World Endurance Championship off to a good start with a podium finish at Silverstone for the new TS050 Hybrid race car. Driver Mike Conway also netted the Richard Lloyd Trophy. Read more here.

Ready for Gen Z
The new uBox concept is the result of a collaboration between Toyota and university students in South Carolina, a new all-electric vehicle study aimed at “Generation Z”. Read more here.

Wooden wonder
Toyota made its debut at Milan Design Week last week, shunning high-tech concepts in favour of a car made from wood using traditional Japanese joinery techniques. Read more here.

New research centre
A third Toyota Research Institute is to open in the USA. The new facility will work closely with the University of Michigan on artificial intelligence and robotics. Read more here.

Connected cars
Following from the announcement of its new research centre in Ann Arbor (above), Toyota is use the American town as a centre for public highway testing of its autonomous driving technologies. Read more here.

The business of data
Toyota is building a new data science hub for its worldwide operations – Toyota Connected Inc. It is working with Microsoft to increase its mobile and data analytics capabilities. Read more here.

Energy-saving honour
Toyota in the USA has saved enough energy since 2002 to power every home in Arkansas for almost a year – more than 16 billion kilowatt hours. The achievement has earned the company Energy Star Partner status for the 12th year running from the US Environmental Protection Agency. Read more here.
