All-new Yaris revealed

Toyota has revealed the all-new Yaris ahead of its market launch in the second half of 2020. The sharply styled model will be the first to use the new GA-B small car platform and will include a new 1.5-litre self-charging hybrid powertrain in its line-up. Read more here.

Toyota’s people-focused future

Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda gave a personal introduction to the company’s Tokyo Motor Show presentation, explaining how the company will focus on people and their relationships with their vehicles in developing the connected cars of the future. Supra storms SEMA show

Toyota’s presence at SEMA, the world-leading auto after market show in Las Vegas, was led by a celebration of the new GR Supra and the 40th anniversary of Toyota Racing Development. A dozen different interpretations of the sports coupe were on display, from standard road-going versions to extreme interpretations created by leading customisers. Read more here.

New Toyota C-HR on sale

Toyota has released prices and specifications for the new Toyota C-HR, which has become an all-hybrid range in its first major update since launch in 2016. As well as adding the option of a powerful 2.0-litre self-charging hybrid powertrain, it benefits from styling tweaks and the latest Toyota multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.  Read more here.

World Champion Tänak

Ott Tänak is Toyota’s new World Rally Champion. The young Estonian put in a dazzling performance on Rally Spain to lift the title for the first time, crowning a season that saw him win six of the 12 events in the Yaris WRC. Read more here.

Sale date for racing Supra

Toyota Gazoo Racing will launch sales of a GR Supra GT4 race car from March 2020, giving private teams the chance to acquire a competition-prepared version of the new coupe. The straight-six turbo engine has been tuned to produce 430bhp and performance components and body styling parts have been added, including a front splitter and rear wing made from a natural composite material. Sporting support for disabled people

Parasport powered by Toyota, an online hub to help disabled people looking for ways to keep active, has launched a fund to provide grants to help organisations provide sports and leisure activities. The Toyota Parasport Fund is available now, delivered in partnership with the British Paralympic Association. Read more here.

The cars of the future – imagined by children

To promote its 2020 Dream Car Art Contest, Toyota has filmed a group of British youngsters talking about their ideas and priorities for the kind of vehicles we could be seeing in the future. Mirai’s million miles

A fleet of 27 Mirai, Toyota’s ground-breaking hydrogen-fuelled car, has clocked up a million miles of emissions-free motoring in and around London. The marathon distance has been covered by the private hire vehicles operated by Green Tomato Cars, saving a theoretical 206 tonnes of CO2. Read more here.

Camry carries off NASCAR title

Denny Hamlin drove his Toyota Camry to victory in Phoenix, Arizona, last weekend (10 November) to clinch the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup series manufacturers’ championship for Toyota – its third title in the competition in four years. Read more here.
