New Equipment and New Powertrain for the 2022 Toyota Proace City Compact Van

24 September 2021

Toyota is rolling out changes to its Proace City compact van range for the 2022 model year with a new equipment grade and a new, more powerful engine, increasing the customer appeal of this key player in the Toyota Professional LCV line-up.

The first change is the introduction of a new top-of-the-range Design trim. This comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured bumpers, satellite navigation and an alarm as standard and benefits from Toyota Safety Sense features – a Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Road Sign Assist and driver fatigue alert.

Initially, the Design version will be available with the 100hp 1.5-litre diesel engine  in standard-wheelbase (L1) form. In spring 2022, the choice will be extended with a new 130hp version of the 1.5 engine, with automatic transmission; this is available to order now with deliveries expected from March. The 75hp engine has been deleted from the range.

Pricing for the 2022 Proace City range is shown in the table below. All new Proace City models are sold with a three-year/60,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty; with the Toyota Relax programme, this can be extended by one year/10,000 miles annually, subject to the vehicle being serviced at an authorised Toyota centre, up to 10 years/100,000 miles, at no extra cost (terms and conditions apply, details at www.toyota.co.uk). New Toyota Professional models are also sold with five years’ roadside assistance cover, giving further customer peace of mind.

Introduced in 2020, Proace City gives Toyota a strong proposition in the crucial compact van segment, with load volume, load length and payload performance (1,000kg) that match the best in its class. Its Smart Cargo system maximises usable space for carrying longer items, while towing capacity is up to 1,500kg. Both standard (L1 2,785mm) and long wheelbase (L2 2,975mm) versions are available.

The Proace City range will be further extended in 2022 with the introduction of Proace City Electric, a zero emission battery electric version with a 134bhp power output.
