The Toyota Celica Twin-Cam Turbo was the product of one of the most exciting phases of rallying, when the World Rally Championship adopted its Group B regulations between 1983 and 1986. It proved a powerful contender and its dominance of the Safari and Ivory Coast Rallies earned it the nick-name “King of Africa”.
Toyota will enter the new GT86 sports car in the 24 Hours Nürburgring endurance race. The new coupes will join the Lexus LFA to form a three car team for the race held inGermanyfrom May 17 to 20. The cars will be run by the GAZOO Racing team which has been competing in the 24 Hours Nürburgring endurance race since 2007.
