Motoring Writers Car Of The Year Stars At The Ulster Motor Show

2 February 2000

The Toyota Yaris supermini will take pride of place on the Toyota stand at the forthcoming Ulster Motor Show (7-13 February 2000).

The mould-breaking Yaris has recently been voted Ulster Motoring Writers Association Car of the Year for 2000 adding to the car’s European Car of the Year 2000 award it won last year.

Two new additions to the Toyota Yaris family include a bigger engined 1.3-litre model and a sophisticated and versatile new MPV version called the Verso.

Sports car and sports coupe fans can also view the new mid-engined convertible MR2 Roadster which will go on sale in April plus the eye-catching new Celica coupe.

Making its UK show debut is a fresh faced new version of the world’s best selling car – the Toyota Corolla – while Toyota’s most advanced diesel engine ever can be seen in the Avensis saloon offering the potential for over 47 mpg.

The mighty Land Cruiser Amazon off-roader and the Picnic MPV also feature on Toyota’s biggest stand ever at the King’s Hall Belfast.
