Toyota Announces Matt Harrison As New Marketing Director
Toyota GB today, (7 February, 2003), announced the appointment of Matt Harrison as its new Marketing Director with immediate effect.
Harrison, 34, joined Toyota GB in 2000 as General Manager, Vehicle Marketing. As Marketing Director he will have overall responsibility for marketing communications, marketing operations, sales and market planning, product planning and vehicle re-marketing activities.
Prior to joining Toyota he spent 10 years with Ford Motor Company in sales and marketing roles across its UK, European and global operations. During his time with Toyota he has been responsible for planning and launch co-ordination for all Toyota products in addition to managing the multi-million pound marketing incentive programmes and sales planning activities.
Harrison succeeds Paul Philpott who was promoted to Commercial Director in January.
Speaking of his appointment, Harrison said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role at this time. With the imminent launch of the new UK-built Avensis and with the momentum of 10 years of successive growth behind us it is an exciting time for the development of the Toyota brand in the UK.”
Toyota GB PLC’s Commercial Director, Paul Philpott said: “Matt played a key part in the product planning and market repositioning of the brand in recent years. I am confident that in his new role he will play a vital part in the strengthening of our position as a highly desirable prestige volume brand. His appointment is also further evidence of the strength of the management team at Toyota. Being able to recruit internally maintains continuity and stability.”
