Akio Toyoda inducted into The Motoring Hall of Fame
Akio Toyoda has been inducted into The Motoring Hall of Fame, in recognition of his lifetime work in the Japanese and global automotive industries.
The honour for Toyota Motor Corporation’s Chairman and former President was announced today at The British Motor Show, which is taking place through this weekend at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.
Mike Rutherford, founder of The Motoring Hall of Fame in London, England, said: “Akio Toyoda is one of the biggest, most productive, talented and influential car company bosses in the global automotive business. His induction into The Motoring Hall of Fame is long overdue.”
Established in 2010, The Motoring Hall of Fame recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to the automotive world. The roster of inductees includes corporate leaders, engineers, designers and motorsports figures.
Akio Toyota studied law and business administration before joining Toyota Motor Corporation in 1984. His career included postings in every phase of the company’s automotive operations, working both in Japan and internationally. He served as TMC President from 2009 until 2023 when he became the Chairman of the Board.
