TOYOTA WINGLET TAKES TO THE STREETS

Toyota’s technology for future personal mobility is moving out of the research laboratory and on to the streets of Japan with today’s (24 July) launch of public trials of its Winglet “assistance robot” in Tsukuba, a designated science and environmental city 35 miles north east of Tokyo.

Toyota Robonaut cleared for launch

Kirobo, Japan’s first ‘robonaut’, has been cleared for launch. Jointly developed by Toyota as part of a consortium of Japanese companies and academic institutions, the robot will board Kounotori 4, scheduled for launch from the Tanegashima space centre on August 4.

Toyota And Lexus Global Hybrid Sales Top Five Million

Worldwide sales of Toyota and Lexus hybrid vehicles have passed five million and the pace of growth continues to accelerate. The cumulative figure reached 5.125 million units1 at the end of March, including all Toyota, Lexus and other Toyota Motor Corporation-owned brand hybrids sold since 1997, when the first generation Prius was introduced.
