Co-op expands its electric delivery fleet with Toyota
Co-op, one of the UK’s best-known and most-respected businesses, is expanding its electric home delivery fleet with Toyota with a £1.5 million investment supporting carbon reduction and net zero goals. More than 50 new Proace City compact vans are entering service as the company replaces and upgrades its vehicle fleet.
Toyota is an established partner of Co-op’s Quick Commerce app-based rapid delivery operation with has a clear goal of growing its online business and this latest vehicle acquisition programme extends this relationship. Similarly, the two brands share a commitment to quality, reliability and supporting local and outlying rural communities where courier services tend to be unavailable.

The Toyota Proace City EV compact van is available in two body lengths, with load space of up to 4.4m3. It can carry a payload of up to 990kg and has a towing capacity of up to one tonne. All versions have space enough for two Europallets, while the ingenious Smart Cargo folding seat system – provided as standard – adds to the cargo capacity, enabling longer items to be carried. In common with all Toyota models, the Proace City comes with a three-year manufacturer warranty, followed by an additional 12 months/10,000 miles warranty with every qualifying service at an authorised Toyota centre, up to 100,000 miles or 10 years.
