Scott Thompson

President and Managing Director, Toyota (GB) PLC

Scott Thompson succeeded Agustín Martín as President and Managing Director, Toyota (GB) PLC, on 1 January 2024. 

He joined the company from KINTO Europe, Toyota’s mobility services business, where he was Vice President, Mobility. This followed four years as CEO of Lexus in Australia, his home nation. 

Born in New South Wales, Thompson first made his name as a professional cricketer before starting a career in marketing with Dunlop Slazenger. He joined Toyota Australia in 2003 where he held multiple roles, including Head of National Marketing and Sales. 

From early 2016, he was General Manager of Marketing for Toyota Motor Sales USA where he was involved in the development of Toyota’s first global marketing campaign to support the company’s Olympic and Paralympic partnerships. 

In 2018 he returned to Australia to assume the role of Lexus Australia Chief Executive, then Vice President of Lexus Operations the following year, followed by the additional appointment as Vice President Product and Corporate Operations in 2020. Retaining the position of Lexus Chief Executive, he also took on the post of Vice President of Corporate Services and Digital Transformation Operations. 

Thompson joined KINTO Europe in January 2022 as Vice President of Operations, Business Development and Technology, serving concurrently as Vice President of Mobility for Toyota Motor Europe, working to strengthen the strategy and coordination among the business’s several mobility functions.
