FOR INFORMATION ONLY: Matt Burt Announced as the New Head of Content and Publishing for Toyota GB
Matt Burt is to join Toyota GB as Head of Content and Publishing, a key role in the company’s Press Relations and Social Media Department. The department, and Matt’s role, are responsible for content covering both Toyota and Lexus brands and Toyota corporate activities.
Matt joins from Haymarket Automotive and brings with him 21 years of editing, publishing and content creation experience. He has spent the past seven years at Autocar, where he was most recently Executive Editor and has previously performed most senior editorial roles, including Editor of the magazine and website. Prior to that, he served as Editor of Motorsport News for four years and also made a foray into motorsport PR.
In his new role, he will be responsible for all aspects of content across the multi-channel, multi-media output of one of the most innovative and original teams in the automotive sector.
“I’ve been fully aware of the Toyota GB PR and social team’s reputation for producing and delivering compelling content across all media channels,” said Matt, “and one of the reasons I’m so thrilled by this new challenge is the potential to add my own experience and ideas to such an already talented team. We’re in the middle of a pivotal era for Toyota and Lexus – and, indeed, for the entire automotive industry – and there are so many important stories to tell about these brands, the cars and the people that make them. I can’t wait to get started.”
Scott Brownlee, General Manager for Press Relations and Social Media, said, “The team has a reputation for producing some of the best content around – from short films to blog articles, social media campaigns to tailored media materials – Matt’s mission is to lead a team to make the best even better.”
Matt’s role at Toyota GB is via DMS, the company’s principle provider of social media content. He will be based full-time at Toyota GB in Epsom and will start on 29 October.
