James Clark Announced as New Toyota and Lexus Press Relations Manager
New faces are rare in the Toyota and Lexus PR department and the arrival James Clark as press relations manager on 22 August will be a welcome addition to the team.
James has extensive experience in journalism and PR, including positions with the Daily Mail and Sunday Times and serving as the Ministry of Defence’s Director of News and Press Secretary during both the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. He has been working in communications in the City since 2007 and as a director of a leading financial and public affairs consultancy for the past five years.
Although this will be James’s debut in the world of automotive PR, he has a passion for cars and bikes – on road, track and in the garage. He also enjoys football and cricket and appreciates a well-made watch, and has written about all these interests for a wide range of publications.
He said: “From both professional and personal points of view the opportunity to join Toyota and Lexus at such an exciting time for both brands was impossible to pass up. I’m delighted to be becoming part of the team and I’m particularly looking forward to working with the UK’s automotive media, which are among the most respected in the world.”
James takes up his new role on 22 August and will report to Scott Brownlee, Head of Press Relations and Social Media. He will lead the highly experienced team, covering both brands.
Scott said: “I’m delighted to welcome someone with James’s enthusiasm and experience to the team.”
