The September plate change has seen records tumble at Toyota in its sales and market share performance both for the month and financial quarter achieving a string of new records.
These impressive results highlight the ability of the Toyota range to tick all the boxes for today’s motorist at a time when cost saving is a priority. It’s a clear case of real people buying real cars with the legendary Toyota reputation for quality and reliability. What’s more, increased sales are good for UK manufacturing too, the Toyota plant in Derby produces the Auris and Avensis models.
Bolstered by a refreshed 2009 vehicle line up, Toyota has already launched five new models this year: Avensis, iQ, Urban Cruiser, Verso, all with the benefit of Toyota Optimal Drive, and a new generation Prius with Hybrid Synergy Drive.
Motorists have been quick to appreciate the improved fuel economy and emission performance delivered by Toyota Optimal Drive, which is now a feature of all Toyota petrol and diesel passenger cars.
Not to be outdone, the Toyota light commercial vehicle range is prospering too, with one in four pick-ups registered during September being a Hilux, and one in four light trucks registered a Dyna.
