Toyota Adds A Hint Of Caribbean

17 July 2002

Introduction of Yaris Colour Collection Blue

Toyota adds a hint of Caribbean to the grey British Summer with the exciting addition of the Yaris Colour Collection Blue, priced from £8,695 on the road. This second Yaris Colour Collection model is available in a striking Caribbean Blue metallic paint in Toyota showrooms now.

The first Yaris Colour Collection model, introduced in January 2002, is still available in stylish Caldera Red metallic paint priced from £8,495. Both models are available in either 3-door or 5-door option with 1.0-litre VVT-i engine (manual transmission).

More than a Lick of Paint

Yaris Colour Collection brings a smile as well as a splash of colour with a high level of equipment fitted as standard. Specification includes leather steering wheel, colour coded bumpers, metallic paint and central locking. To add to the stylish look titanium effect front grille and stylish ‘Elipse Grey’ interior cloth – as featured in the sporty SR model – are also standard.

The Yaris Colour Collection Blue also comes fitted with unique 14″ alloy wheels and locking wheel nuts and radio cassette tuner. The Yaris Colour Collection Red comes fitted with unique 14″ wheel trims and radio CD tuner.

Brushed with Individuality

Yaris Colour Collection models feature unique ‘Colour Collection’ badging placed in front of the exterior door mirrors. The word ‘Collection’ will be silver coloured and the word ‘Colour’ will be either red or blue in line with the Caldera Red or Caribbean Blue metallic.

Yaris Value

The Yaris Colour Collection Blue 1.0-litre 3-door is priced at £8,695 on the road, only £500 more than the standard 1.0-litre GS 3-door yet boasting around £1,000 worth of extra equipment over the GS. The Yaris Colour Collection Blue 1.0-litre 5-door is priced at £9,195, a £500 step-up from the 3-door.

Sales Success

Since its introduction in April 1999, Yaris has been a European success. Wowing customers with its small yet spacious, practical yet stylish appeal, the European Car of the Year 2000 continues to set new benchmarks for the supermini sector.

The versatile Yaris Verso mini-MPV was launched in January 2000, its practicality and driveability attracting Verso customers from young families to a wide range of fleet customers particularly in the public sector. Three years on, success of Yaris does not falter as it continues to attract new customers to the Toyota brand.

Yaris D-4D

In March 2002 Toyota introduced the Yaris 1.4-litre D-4D diesel broadening the Yaris range by offering customers excellent fuel consumption of up to 67.3mpg and petrol-like performance without compromising on style or practicality.

Sales of the Yaris D-4D since its launch have exceeded expectations with year to date sales at 955 units to the end of June. Toyota expects to sell around 2,300 Yaris D-4D models in 2002.
