Toyota Fleet Customer Cycles 1000 Miles To Raise Money For Charity
Harry Baines, employee of Yorkshire’s largest car hire specialist Autohorn will be setting off on a 1,000 mile bike ride around the UK in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care and BEN. And as a customer of Toyota Fleet, Harry plans to start his cycling marathon on 25 May from Toyota’s UK headquarters in Epsom.
Baines (21) who lives in York is no stranger to cycling challenges having accomplished a 500 mile bike ride last year raising £2,000 in the process for Cancer Research and Parkinsons UK. This year’s route will see Baines leave Toyota’s Surrey HQ heading up to Chester then out through Wales to Holyhead. From there he takes the ferry to Ireland cycling to Larne on the North Coast and the ferry over to Ayr in Scotland. The ride then takes him through Glasgow and Edinburgh before following the East Coast down to the finishing point at Autohorn’s headquarters in York planned for 8 June, the day before his birthday.
Baines said; “I have always been passionate about charity work. When I was diagnosed with Lymphoma at the age of 19 and received radiation therapy this only strengthened my resolve to help other people. During my treatment I met lots of patients who went through a lot worse than I did. Having received the all clear two years ago my experience of cancer was a very strong motivation to stay active and do things.”
Autohorn UK have been a Toyota customer for 2 years and during that time have purchased over 200 vehicles. These have included the Auris Hybrid, Aygo, Yaris, and RAV4 models.
