Toyota increases profits
Toyota’s results for the past financial year (2014 – 2015) reveal increases in revenue and net income, although vehicle sales were lower than in previous 12 months. Akio Toyoda, Toyota Motor Corporation President, introduced the results, explaining how cost reductions and favourable international exchange rates had contributed to the rise. Read more here.
Hybrid battery packs re-used in national park’s solar energy scheme
One of America’s most famous national parks is making use of redundant Toyota hybrid batteries in a new sustainable energy project. The scheme in Yelllowstone National Park harvests solar energy which is then stored in re-used Camry battery packs for supply to the park’s ranger and education centres. Read more here.
Verso range expanded
Toyota has expanded its Verso compact MPV range with the addition of a new Trend Plus model, complete with rear-seat DVD entertainment system. More versions come as standard with the Toyota Touch 2 touchscreen multimedia and navigation system and all engines now meet Euro 6 emissions standards. Read more here.
