Toyota Prius Goes on National Fleet
National Car Rental has secured a major new deal with Toyota to give its customers environmentally friendly driving options in the shape of the innovative Toyota Prius. This latest deal is part of National’s ongoing partnership with Toyota and marks a shared vision that focuses on delivering a quality motoring experience whilst reducing CO2 emissions.
Prius is the world’s first and most successful hybrid power vehicle and the cleanest family car on the road today, making it a crucial addition to the National fleet. Driving pleasure, comfort and space haven’t been sacrificed to provide an eco-car. Instead Prius combines style and superb handling with state of the art technology needed in these environmentally conscious times.
The new fleet of vehicles will initially be made available to National’s corporate customers in and around the London area, providing a solution for those that need to travel into the congestion zone. The Prius can also be driven certain distances using electric power only at the press of a button, producing zero emissions and less noise – perfect for city driving and exempt from the congestion charge.
“We have already supplied a dedicated fleet of Prius to one of our corporate customers but this new deal means we can offer this exciting addition to the National fleet more widely, bringing our customers the ultimate level of choice and the latest in driving technology” confirmed Tim Bailey, National Car Rental Vice President Fleet. “Our strong relationship with Toyota means we can cater to the demands of customers who want a greener rental option or want to avoid congestion charges. We are constantly looking at ways to enhance the service we provide by investing in the quality of vehicles on fleet, while ensuring our customers gain the same quality rental experience they have come to expect from National.”
Tim Copland, General Manager Toyota Fleet said “We are delighted that National has taken the decision to use Prius within the London area. Not only will this save potential customers payment of the London Congestion Charge, but because Prius has the ability able to run solely on electric power when in traffic it improves fuel consumption. A further substantial benefit is of course the fact that it provides zero emissions in such circumstances.”
