Toyota RAV4 wins the popular vote as the UK’s best plug-in hybrid car
The Toyota RAV4 has been named the best plug-in hybrid car in the Autotrader Drivers’ Choice Awards.
The honour, announced today, is of special significance, being based on the real-world experiences and opinions of more than 225,000 of UK car owners who took part in Autotrader’s online survey.
Erin Baker, Autotrader Editorial Director, said: “Toyota is no stranger to hybrids, and it shows in the plug-in iteration of the RAV4 which is clearly winning over owners with its affordable running costs, smooth driving experience and strong reliability record.
“One owner couldn’t get enough of their RAV4 Plug-in, telling us: ‘It’s difficult to pinpoint one thing I like the most. This is an excellent car, beautifully finished and with plenty of technology to make driving a pleasure.’ Very well said.”
The RAV4 Plug-in is the latest evolution of Toyota’s segment-defining recreational SUV and the most powerful version yet. Power is perfectly balanced with efficiency: while the 302bhp (225kW) powertrain enables 0-62mph acceleration in six seconds, the official (WLTP combined) figures are 22g/km CO2 emissions and 282.4mpg fuel consumption. In all-electric EV mode, the car will cover up to 46 miles – more than enough to cover typical daily drives.
The all-round performance strength is matched by family-friendly, contemporary design and an interior that’s capacious and flexible. As well as the well-established quality, reliability and durability of Toyota’s hybrid technology, customers have the peace of mind of up to 10 years’ manufacturer warranty protection.
