Toyota Sales Strong in February
Even before it reaches the month-end, Toyota has defied its doubters and posted a significant increase in sales during February.
Private buyers – ordinary individuals spending their own money on a new car – in particular have demonstrated their continued faith in Toyota quality, reliability and driving pleasure. Sales in this part of the market are already up more than 65 per cent (2,285 units) compared to February 2009 (1,381 units), making Toyota the UK’s fourth most popular brand in the retail segment.
So far this year Toyota has increased its retail sales volume by 5.8 per cent on the same period in 2009 and is commanding a healthy 4.89 per cent share of the new car market.
Combined retail and fleet/business sales of Toyota cars and LCVs have increased by 15.7 per cent on last year’s February total.
Jon Williams, Toyota GB’s Commercial Director said: “With more sales still to be recorded this month, these figures demonstrate that discerning customers, with a huge choice of vehicles open to them, still have complete confidence in Toyota.
“Much credit is also due to the fantastic work of our Toyota dealers around the country, which continue to deliver exceptional customer service as they expedite the recall process.”
