Toyota Takes Ebay Award For E-commerce Excellence
Best Branded Motors Store of the Year
Toyota’s official eBay store has been honoured by the web giant, less than two years after first going live. It was named Best Branded Motors Store in the 2015 eBay Motors Awards from among 11 finalists that included other manufacturers and vehicle parts and suppliers specialists.
The Motors Awards judging panel agreed that Toyota offers an outstanding customer experience, reflected in a 100 per cent satisfaction score according to the website’s rating system. It was also impressed by the way Toyota used its online marketplace to support its role as an official partner to this year’s Red Nose Day, with sales of vehicle red noses.
Toyota set up its eBay store in 2013 as a fast and simple way for people to buy genuine parts and accessories, backed by a minimum one-year Toyota “no quibble” guarantee. Prices are the same as those charged at Toyota dealerships.
Steve Settle, Toyota GB’s Director, Customer Services, said: “This is an excellent seal of approval for our e-commerce programme.
“We are committed to making it as easy as possible for customers to purchase items, safe in the knowledge that they are genuine and backed by our warranty. eBay provides us with a respected, high-quality marketplace in which to operate and we will continue to develop our store to provide an even wider range of services.”
Toyota’s eBay store inventory already covers all the most popular service and repair items and accessories for both its current model range and for older vehicles as well. Further investment is set to more than double the range available in the coming months, supported by focused media targeting.
Toyota’s principal partners in its programme are the online store management business We Are Pentagon, eBay, PayPal and Toyota Logistics Services, which fulfils the orders from its base in Lutterworth.
