The Toyota C-HR has cut a swathe through the crossover market, its combination of keen-edged styling and dynamic quality making it an instant hit with critics and customers alike. Three months on from its showroom launch, it’s ramping up its appeal with a new Limited Edition version that delivers an even richer mix of style, technology and equipment.
Just 100 examples of this new top-of-the-range Toyota C-HR are being made available, exclusively with Toyota’s smooth and refined new 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid powertrain.
On the street the Limited Edition is distinguished by a bi-tone paint finish that combines Metal Stream bodywork with a contrast black finish to the roof, rear spoiler and door mirrors. Eighteen-inch alloys with a matt black finish and chrome side sills add to the visual impact, together with discreet Limited Edition diamond badging on the centre pillars.
The cabin is fitted out with black leather upholstery, has special Limited Edition badging on the dashboard and comes equipped with a nine-speaker JBL sound system, complete with an eight-channel, 576-Watt amplifier.
The Limited Edition adopts all the high-quality design and specification features of the Toyota C-HR Dynamic. This includes LED headlights, fog lamps and daytime running lights, sequential LED turn indicators and rear privacy glass. Auto-folding door mirrors, front and rear parking sensors and Smart Entry and Start ensure maximum convenience, while a focus on contemporary style in the cabin adds an anodised blue decoration line framing the full width of the dashboard, dark violet trims for the upper instrument panel and door panels and light blue ambient door illumination.
The Limited Edition further benefits from the Toyota touch 2 with Go multimedia and navigation system, including three years’ map updates and access to online services. In terms of safety, Toyota C-HR has been given the top five-star rating in independent Euro NCAP testing; it also comes with Toyota Safety Sense as standard, with active systems including adaptive cruise control, Automatic High Beam, Road Sign Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Lane Keep Assist and a Pre-Collision System with autonomous emergency braking. A Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, a reversing camera and Intelligent Parking Assist are also provided as standard.
Toyota C-HR is built on the new Toyota New Global Architecture-based platform, securing a low centre of gravity and a balanced chassis that are fundamental to securing intrinsically responsive and rewarding handling. Toyota’s latest generation petrol-electric hybrid powertrain further enhances the driving experience, while achieving characteristically high efficiency with low CO2 and NOx emissions and strong fuel economy (official combined cycle figures 87g/km CO2 and 72.4mpg).
The new Toyota C-HR Hybrid Limited Edition is on sale now, price £29,995 on the road.
