Toyota’s Scott Thompson proud to become patron of the Automotive 30% Club
Scott Thompson, Toyota (GB) President and Managing Director, has become a patron of the Automotive 30% Club.
Founded in 2016, the club is a voluntary network of leaders and executives from UK-based automotive manufacturing, retailing and supplier companies who share best practice on how to achieve a better gender balance and increase female representation in senior management positions. It organises digital meetings, workshops and campaigns and promotes a “30 by 30” strategy, aiming for women to fill 30 per cent of the leadership roles at member organisations by 2030.
Thompson said: “I am delighted to represent Toyota as a founding patron and member of the 30% Automotive Club; championing diversity and inclusion is close to my heart as well as being really important to everyone at TGB.
“As a company, we are proud to have been a part of this club from the outset and harness its values and ambitions to further drive our cultural and people-focused journey. Together, as club members, we can have a greater collective impact by continuing to focus on the attractiveness of our industry, how we increase the gender balance and create inclusive workplaces where everyone thrives.
“As an industry, we should aspire to attract talented people reflective of our broad customer base and encourage open-minded and broad thinking to meet the transformational change happening in the automotive industry. We need to attract and retain the best talent and create the environment where everyone is seen, heard, and developed to their full potential.”
