UK Franchise Dealers Rank Toyota and Lexus Fairest in the Market for Vehicle Warranties
KEY POINTS
- Toyota and Lexus share top ranking for fairest warranty service in National Franchised Dealers Association’s winter survey
- Results reflect the views of the retail motor industry professionals from all UK franchises
- Toyota and Lexus committed to continue to offer customers and its Centre network the best quality service
The warranty services provided by Toyota and Lexus are ranked top in the British motor industry, according to the UK’s franchised car dealers.
The latest survey by the National Franchised Dealers Association’s (NFDA) judged that the two Japanese brands provided the fairest warranty service for both dealers and customers in the winter period of 2011.
The bi-annual study – an industry-recognised snapshot of attitudes and performance in the retail motor trade – attracted its highest response yet, reflecting its importance as a business barometer.
The results, published this week, show Toyota maintaining the number one position on warranty fairness it has held since the winter 2010 survey, while Lexus moves up one place to joint first, having previously been placed second behind its sister brand.
The survey reflects not only the quality of warranty service under the protection package offered to customers – five years/100,000 miles for Toyota models and three years/60,000 miles for the Lexus range – but also the efficient way in which warranty claims are dealt with, with the appropriate technical support.
Jon Williams, President and Managing Director of Toyota GB PLC said: “The results of the latest NFDA survey area a great seal of approval for the way in which Toyota and Lexus conduct their warranty business. The survey reflects the views of dealers across the industry, not just Toyota or Lexus, making it an especially strong endorsement.”
