WeFlex chooses the all-electric Toyota bZ4X for London’s ride-hailing market
Toyota’s battery electric bZ4X SUV is joining London’s ride-hailing market with leading provider WeFlex placing an initial order for 165 vehicles with a total retail value of £7 million.
WeFlex considers bZ4X to be an ideal proposition for the ride-hailing industry, appreciating its driving range of up to 318 miles, generous load space appropriate for airport runs and spacious cabin.
Nicko Williamson, Founder and CEO of WeFlex said: “We have worked with Toyota since we launched in 2016. Toyota is a long-standing innovator in the hybrid and electric vehicle space – Prius made today’s market possible. We are excited to see such a positive reception already from our customers for the bZ4X, which is a great vehicle. To significantly reduce vehicle-based carbon emissions, Britain needs more electric vehicles – and the Ride-Hailing industry is a huge part of that, with WeFlex vehicles covering 90 million miles already and counting. We remain on a mission to ensure that drivers have access to the biggest range of affordable EVs.”
Neil Broad, General Manager One Toyota Fleet Services, said: “WeFlex’s commitment to bZ4X is a valuable seal of approval for the vehicle’s quality and capabilities. Providing smooth and refined performance, spacious accommodation and the well-proven reliability and durability of our electrified vehicle technologies, it is sure to become a popular choice for WeFlex’s customers.”
The bZ4X is key vehicle in Toyota’s multi-path technology strategy for ensuring continued reductions in vehicle CO2 emissions towards ultimate carbon neutrality. This approach embraces battery electric vehicles such as bZ4X together with plug-in hybrid models, including the newly launched Toyota C-HR Plug-in, RAV4 Plug-in and forthcoming all-new Prius Plug-in; a wide-ranging choice of hybrid vehicles; and fuel cell technology, as featured in the ground-breaking Mirai saloon.
