RAV4 Raises Its Cap As Best Small 4×4 In Used Car Of The Year Awards 2000
Tomorrow Toyota receives the award for Best Small 4×4 in the CAP Used Car of the Year Awards 2000 for its trend setting RAV4 sport utility vehicle. The award will be accepted by Toyota Marketing Director, Paul Philpott, on the Toyota Stand 1150 in Hall One at 4.15pm presented by CAP Managing Director Kevin Finn.
Daren Wiseman, Senior Editor of CAP Black Book, the trade’s benchmark guide to used car values comments: “This is one of the most stylish small 4x4s in the market. Its combination of good looks and legendary Toyota reliability has made it an obvious choice for this sector.”
RAV4 had to demonstrate that it is a good used car performer for the trade as well as the buyer. The first generation original RAV4 has proved its value to the market since its launch in 1994 showing its qualities meet customer expectations. The judges, consisting of CAP editors and technical experts, rated residual values of high importance also commending RAV4 for its reliability, image and desirability.
RAV4 continues to impress with the new RAV4 second generation selling beyond expectation since its launch in August 2000. Over 8,000 units of the new model that features VVT-i engines and air conditioning as standard are likely to sell next year. A two-wheel drive 1.8 litre is available for the first time.
RAV4’s success in the CAP Used Car of the Year Awards follows recent acclaim for Toyota’s used car scheme. Auto Assured has been voted Best Approved Used Scheme 2000 by What Car? magazine in the What Car? Good Used Car Dealer Guide October 2000. What Car? commended the Auto Assured scheme for combining the best overall package of approved cover with dealer forecourt prices that offer fine value for money.
Toyota’s Auto Assured scheme offers manufacturer levels of cover on all Toyota vehicles up to seven years of age with no mileage restrictions.
