The Toyota Aygo x-cite undergoes another transformation this summer, adopting a hot new red and black colour scheme and an even higher equipment specification.
This special version of the coolest car on the city’s streets sports Red Pop bodywork with contrasting black roof and door mirror casings, and a gloss black treatment for the distinctive Aygo front ‘X’, A-pillar extensions and rear bumper insert.
The high-impact look is underscored by a set of 15-inch gloss black alloys with bright red centre caps, finished off with the Toyota logo in silver.
There’s a similarly striking colour combination in the cabin, with seats sporting a new Blaze upholstery, combining black fabric with red bolsters and contrast stitching. The upper door trims and air vent surrounds match the Red Pop exterior, the centre console and gear shift surround are in gloss black and the carpet mats are black with thick red edging.
The latest version of the x-cite ramps up the comfort factor with the addition of automatic air conditioning. Dusk-sensing automatic headlights have also been added to the equipment specification, which also includes an x-touch multimedia system with seven-inch touchscreen and reversing camera, front fog lamps and rear privacy glass.
The new Aygo x-cite is offered exclusively in five-door format and with Toyota’s frugal but fun-to-drive 69bhp three-cylinder 1.0-litre engine; customers can choose either standard five-speed manual or optional x-shift automated manual transmission. The new model is on sale now, price £12,520 for the manual and £13,220 with x-shift.
