New Vans and Versos

The Toyota Professional line-up of light commercials goes from strength to strength with new and updated models now on sale. Leading the way is the all-new Proace Max, Toyota’s first heavy-duty van. Read more here.

Toyota puts start-ups in the spotlight

Start-ups brimming with great ideas for future mobility are being given the chance to promote and develop their innovations in the latest Toyota Open Labs programme. Six pioneering small businesses have been selected to take part, covering mobility challenges from journey planning to roadside assistance and terrain monitoring. Read more here.

Driverless drifting

The images show two GR Supra drifting in perfect unison – but there are no human drivers turning the wheel. Instead, this precision manoeuvre has been achieved using autonomous driving technology, developed by Toyota Research Institute. It shows how cars can be controlled at the extremes of their dynamic performance, with far-reaching implications for building advanced safety systems into future vehicles. Read more here.

Excess protection taking the sting out of scrapes

Toyota Insurance Services has launched a new product that can help ease some of the financial pain when you need to make a claim for accident damage. Toyota Excess Protection (also available for Lexus models), is a complimentary 12-month offer for owners of both new and used vehicles, offering pay-back of up to £350 on your motor insurance excess when you make a claim through Toyota Accident Car and have your vehicle repaired in an authorised Toyota workshop. Yaris Cross powers up

Yaris Cross now offers more choice with the addition of a more hybrid powertrain option to the range. At the same time, the small SUV gains extra safety tech features and equipment upgrades across the board. Read more here.

Awards have been rolling for Toyota, led by the Manufacturer of the Year title from Autocar. The company has also been recognised for its electrified technology leadership, being name “most influential hybrid car maker” in the EcoCar Electrified Top 50. Read more here and here.
