Toyota presents trusted partners at the Emergency Services Show
Toyota will present a range of vehicles ready to serve as trusted partners on its stand at the Emergency Services Show, taking place this week at the NEC, Birmingham (17-19 September).
The line-up will further demonstrate the value of the company’s muti-path approach to electrified powertrains with both fully electric and self-charging hybrid models in the spotlight, offering performance appropriate for different customer requirements in a specialised market where reliability and durability are key.
Toyota also is highlighting the time and cost efficiency benefits of its one-stop-shop service to equip vehicles with the electronic systems, light bars and liveries required by blue-light customers. The work is carried out in a specialised conversion facility at Toyota’s Burnaston car plant in Derbyshire, adjacent to the production line for the Corolla Touring Sports – a model that’s well-established as a popular choice for police forces across the UK.
The Corolla Touring Sports – a self-charging full hybrid – will be presented at the show in an example livery, demonstrating the quality of the customisation service.
The recently launched Land Cruiser Commercial will be making its first appearance at the show, a van conversion based on the all-new Land Cruiser passenger car. Another model produced by a conversion team Toyota Manufacturing UK (TMUK) at Burnaston, this offers robust, go-anywhere performance combined with high equipment specifications for on-board comfort and connectivity, plus a comprehensive package of active safety and driver assistance features.
The all-wheel drive Toyota Hilux pick-up regularly proves its worth in being able to take the toughest terrain and weather conditions in its stride, making it an ideal workhorse for teams who have to operate in remote areas inaccessible to conventional vehicles.
The Proace Electric completes the show line-up, a fully electric medium duty van that provides a generous and flexible load space with zero exhaust emissions, making it particularly well-suited to use in urban areas.
Neil Broad, General Manager One Toyota Fleet, said: “The strength-in-depth of our model range, our electrification options and the availability of our factory-based conversion service make our vehicles a compelling choice. What’s more, they come with a great reputation for quality, durability and reliability – key considerations for emergency services customers who have to balance stringent performance criteria with budgeting efficiency.”
