Autohorn Goes Greener With 40 Yaris Hybrid
Autohorn, one of Yorkshire’s largest fleet service specialists, has given its business a greener profile by adding the Toyota Yaris Hybrid to its fleet of 800 cars and vans.
The company had already been impressed by the low CO2 and strong fuel economy of its Auris Hybrid models and so went on to recruit Yaris Hybrid as the newest Toyota in its line-up.
Yaris Hybrid, Europe’s only full hybrid supermini, delivers CO2 emissions of 85g/km in the T Spirit version specified by Autohorn. This means there is no road tax to pay, while combined-cycle fuel consumption figure is a budget-friendly 76.3mpg. Thanks to clever packaging of the hybrid battery, Yaris Hybrid has just as much space in the cabin and boot as its petrol and diesel sister models.
Business vehicle operators such as Autohorn also benefit from the proven durability of Toyota’s full hybrid system and its less complex service and maintenance requirements.
Autohorn’s Managing Director, Lee Underwood said ‘The Yaris was an easy choice due to its looks and fuel economy. We are always looking at ways to provide our customers with environmentally friendly vehicles and hope that we can supply York City Council with them for their daily hire requirements‘.
Autohorn Fleet Services has been in business as a car and van rental, short-term leasing and contract hire company for more than 18 years, and holds National, Alamo and Europcar franchises. Seventy per cent of its business, around 225,000 days of hire a year, is with corporate customers.
