BTCC rookie Adam Morgan enjoyed his first taste of a Speedworks Motorsport-prepared Toyota Avensis Friday at Donington Park, the 23-year-old joining his team-mate Tony Hughes to gain some vital pre-season experience of the Leicestershire circuit.
Anthony Davidson, one of the world’s most accomplished endurance racing drivers, has been recruited to drive an additional Toyota TS030 Hybrid at this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours (16-17 June). Davidson is named by Toyota Racing in its finalised 2012 driver line-up, alongside Japanese GT star Hiroaki Ishiura and Swiss Formula 1 pilot Sébastien Buemi.
These three join Alex Wurz, Nicolas Lapierre and Kazuki Nakajima, who will drive for Toyota in the FIA World Endurance Championship from the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (5 May) onwards.
