Toyota is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Hayes into the newly created role of Marketing Director for the Toyota brand in the UK.
Chris, who has been the brand’s General Manager of Vehicle Marketing since May 2011, took up his new position on 2 September. Chris has responsibility for the development of Toyota’s product marketing and communication in the UK.
Commenting on his new appointment, Chris said: “The Toyota brand is at an exciting point and I’m thrilled to be leading the UK team as we seek to grow our share of the UK market. I believe we have a range of cars that cater to a broad spectrum of consumer types and our dealer network gives some of the best service in the industry. This is central to our continuing success.”
Chris joined Toyota GB in 2003, holding various field-based roles before a stint with the Global Knowledge Centre (GKC) in Torrance, California as Marketing Manager. Chris returned to the UK in 2009 to lead the sales and supply planning team, prior to his first executive appointment in 2011 as General Manager of Vehicle Marketing.
Chris’s previous motor industry experience includes seven years with Ford UK, and was originally recruited as part of their graduate leadership programme.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Chris is married with one daughter (Sophie, 3) and in his spare time enjoys cricket, golf, travelling and spending time with his family.
