Fit for business: Toyota electrified vehicles in the spotlight at UK Construction Week

1 May 2025

Toyota is putting its hard-working vehicle line-up in the spotlight at UK Construction Week, an industry-leading showcase for all aspects of building and construction, taking place at ExCel London next week (7-9 May).

Toyota Professional light commercial models on display will include the Proace and Proace electric vans and the hybrid-powered Corolla Commercial. These will be joined by the new Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid hatchback.

Together, they demonstrate the breadth of choice offered by Toyota’s muti-path approach to reducing emissions through a range of powertrain options – battery electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid. This ensures customers can reduce their carbon footprint with vehicle performance that best suits their needs, supporting progress towards the ultimate goal of carbon neutrality.

Toyota Proace Electric

The Proace Electric is the battery electric version of Toyota’s medium-duty van. Electric power doesn’t compromise its key capabilities: medium and long body length options deliver load space of up to 6.6m3 with the ingenious Smart Cargo system freeing up extra space when needed to carry longer items. Payloads are up to 1,375kg.

Proace’s dimensions make it an urban-friendly machine, with a 6.2m turning radius for the medium-length model and a 1.92m height that ensures access to standard car parks.

Toyota Proace City Electric

The Proace City Electric offers all the virtues of its sister model – on a smaller scale: two body lengths, the space-saving Smart Cargo system and load space up to 4.4m3 in the long-wheelbase model. Maximum payload is 759kg.

Both Proace and Proace City are equipped with features that make business easier when on the move, including smartphone integration with the van’s multimedia system via either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and a handy desktop surface when the passenger seat is folded to use the Smart Cargo system. Latest upgrades to the battery electric powertrain have increased power to 135bhp/100kW and enable a driving range (WLTP standard) of up to 213 miles. Using a 100kW DC fast-charging system, the battery can be charged up to 80 per cent in around half an hour.

Toyota Corolla Commercial

The Toyota Corolla Commercial is a unique model in its field, a compact van that has the efficiency and performance benefits of Toyota’s world-leading full hybrid technology.

Built at Toyota’s Burnaston factory in the UK, it is based on the Corolla Touring Sports passenger car. With the rear seats removed, there’s a 1,326-litre load space with full metal bulkhead and rubber-lined cargo bay. It retains many of the features of the Touring Sports, including the Toyota Safety Sense advanced active safety and driver assistance systems, dual-zone air conditioning, heated front seats and a multimedia system with eight-inch display.

Toyota Prius

The Toyota Prius joins the Toyota Professional models at UK Construction Week as a car that’s an efficient proposition for site managers and specialists who need to move from location to location in the course of their work.

The fifth generation of the world’s first and most successful hybrid production car, Prius is today a plug-in hybrid model. It’s the most fuel and emissions-efficient Prius yet, with genuine all-electric capability for journeys of up to more than 50 miles – further than most typical commuting trips.

Up to 10 years’ warranty cover

All Toyota vehicles – LCVs included – are eligible for Toyota warranty protection for up to 10 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first). This benefit differentiates Toyota Professional models from their competition and has proved a key factor in securing a number of prestigious media awards.

The 10-year cover offer comprises an initial three-year manufacturer warranty, followed by up to a further seven years of service-activated warranty. For the first three years of the car’s life, owners can have it serviced at a place of their choice. When the new car warranty period expires, they can then benefit from an additional 12 months (or 10,000 miles) warranty when their vehicle has a qualifying service at an authorised Toyota workshop. The warranty is provided at no extra cost, up to a limit of 10 years/100,000 miles. Terms and conditions apply; full details are available at www.toyota.co.uk.

Commitment to customer service

Toyota Professional customers can enjoy a range of benefits tailored to the needs of business people.

New LCVs are sold with five years’ free roadside assistance. Toyota Professional is also committed to offering appointments at the customer’s convenience, with work carried out by qualified, Toyota-trained technicians. Customers also gain peace of mind and easier budgeting with transparent service pricing according to vehicle type.

Access to the help customers need is made easy with a UK network of more than 100 Toyota Professional retailers.
