MJ Church Gets To Work With Hilux

23 March 2016

In the tough world of civil engineering you need transport you can rely on for heavy duty work, which is why specialist company M J Church has become one of Britain’s biggest Hilux customers, recently taking delivery of its 60th vehicle in just two years.

MJ Church is a civil engineering, earthworks and waste management contracting company based in Chippenham, and its pick-up fleet is made up entirely of Hilux, with a range of Active and Icon grades. These are used by its staff to meet a highly diverse range of business demands that put the model’s strength and reliability to the test, every day.

Tom Church, company director, said: “We’re extremely pleased with our evolving relationship with Toyota. We’ve used other manufacturers’ pick-ups in the past but have come up against a number of reliability issues.

“We chose Hilux instead as it has a great reputation within our industry. It also has good whole life costs, while still ticking all of the boxes for the requirements of our business. We’ve been running Hilux vehicles for the past couple of years with no issues and we look forward to continuing to run them for the foreseeable future.”

The Hilux range offers versatility as well as rock-solid dependability, with Single, Extra and Double Cab versions that offer a different balance between cabin space and load capacity. Payloads extend to more than 1,060kg, and all models have a 2.8-tonne (braked) towing capability. Both front-wheel and all-wheel drive versions are available, the latter engineered to take challenging off-road conditions in their stride.

At the same time as Hilux is a redoubtable workhorse, it also provides excellent safety and comfort provisions for everyone on board. According to model grade, it is specified with Vehicle Stability Control, driver and front passenger airbags, air conditioning, power windows and remote central locking, plus (Icon and Invincible models) the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with touchscreen control, Bluetooth and rear-view camera

Neil Broad, General Manager Toyota and Lexus Fleet Services, said: “Hilux is renowned for its toughness and has an excellent track record, having been tested in the world’s most extreme environments. We’re delighted that MJ Church is such a great ambassador for Hilux and are confident that our famous pick-up will continue to give them exactly the performance, lasting quality and value for money they want.”
