New Toyota Film Profiles Theo Ellis, the First Man to Drive 25,000 Miles in a Mirai Hydrogen-Powered Car
A new film by Toyota GB profiles social media star Theo Ellis, a driver for greentomatocars who has become the first person in the UK to drive 25,000 miles in a Mirai hydrogen fuel cell car – a distance equivalent to circling the globe.

greentomatocars, London’s original green private hire company, was one of the first UK businesses to take delivery of a zero emission Toyota Mirai. The car is a mid-size four-door saloon, powered by electricity generated in a hydrogen fuel cell, which emits nothing other than water vapour when driven.
Theo has spent the last year driving the Mirai around London, receiving positive reactions from his passengers. He has become famous on his Twitter feed, @Theo_mirai, for sharing selfies of himself with his famous passengers including broadcasters Jeremy Paxman, Jonathan Dimbleby and Andrew Marr, music producer Pete Waterman, Poldark star Aidan Turner, London Mayor Sadiq Khan and Hollywood star Pamela Anderson.
Theo comments: “The Twitter account came about because both I and greentomatocars thought (Mirai) was a really cool car and thought it was a way for everyone to get to know about it and to show that yes, it’s practical, it’s happening and it’s live.”
