Toyota Announces New Marketing Manager, Toyota Fleet
Toyota GB has appointed Kevin Ledgar as new Marketing Manager, Toyota Fleet. Taking up his new role on 4 June 2001, Kevin reports to Jon Pollock, General Manager Toyota Fleet.
Kevin joins Toyota from Nissan where he held various management positions in zone management, head office sales operations and most recently Brand Manager. Kevin brings a wealth of experience to Toyota Fleet including network development for local business sales and commercial vehicle programmes as well as proactive marketing for used vehicles and direct mail promotions.
Kevin will be responsible for all aspects of Fleet Marketing including advertising, promotions and events. Kevin will co-ordinate a marketing programme for targeting large fleets and the growing sub-100 fleet sector. His remit will also include marketing for Motability, tax-free sales and supporting the launch of significant new product for the fleet market with Avensis Verso in July, Camry in October and new Corolla early in 2002.
Kevin comments: “Toyota offers one of the most extensive product ranges in the fleet market presenting an excellent platform to market the brand at a number of public sector and customer exhibitions and events throughout 2001. It is an exciting time to join Toyota Fleet with the second phase of the successful national fleet servicing programme and further development of the sub-100 fleet sales team just around the corner.”
The marketing programme will support Toyota Fleet’s 2001 objective to focus on the Avensis appeal to Fleet buyers in the upper medium sector as well as marketing support for the petrol electric hybrid Prius in its first full sales year. The introduction of a full diesel line-up and the rollout of a dedicated commercial vehicle network will make for a busy first year for Kevin.
Jon Pollock, General Manager Toyota Fleet added, “I am confident Toyota will benefit from Kevin’s considerable sales and marketing experience with the development of both Contract Hire and Leasing and National Fleet Servicing programmes over the coming months.”
