Toyota Auris Hybrid Leads the Way at Goodwood’s First Moving Motor Show
Built in Britain and now the star of a very British motor show, Toyota’s Auris Hybrid will mark its official on-sale date in a new curtain-raising attraction for the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Five of the full-hybrid family hatchback models will be taking part in Goodwood’s Moving Motor Show on 1 July, with 100 prospective owners attending the event as Toyota guests and enjoying an exclusive test drive.
Eighty of the test drives will be drawn from those expressing early interest in the car via the Toyota customer web site. They will be among the first motorists in Britain to experience Auris Hybrid’s smooth and ultra efficient performance. The driving route through the grounds of Goodwood Park will include the famous hillclimb course, set to be the arena for high performance action through the following weekend.
In the wake of an austere budget, the prospect of a practical family car that offers road tax-free CO2 emissions from 89g/km and an official 74.3mpg has even more appeal. Built at Toyota’s Burnaston factory in Derbyshire, and with a petrol engine produced at its Deeside plant in North Wales, Auris Hybrid is the first Toyota hybrid to be manufactured in Europe.
