Toyota builds European software capabilities with new digital hub
Toyota Motor Europe today announces the opening of a European centre for the development of new advanced technology applications for Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The Toyota Digital Hub, in Wrocław, Poland, is expected to employ a team of around 200 technical specialists.
They will be responsible for enhancing the MyToyota and LexusLink+ applications, used by more than two million UK and European customers to access remote vehicle functions, battery‑charge monitoring and a wide range of convenience services. The team will also contribute to the development of the cloud infrastructure that enables connected services for Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Europe and cybersecurity support.
The establishment of the Toyota Digital Hub marks a further investment by Toyota in Wrocław. Since 2015, the company’s Shared Services Centre has been based in the city, providing accounting and tax advisory services for all Toyota units in Europe.
Luis Lopes, Toyota Motor Europe Vice President Information and Technology, said: “The Toyota Digital Hub is set to play an important role in Europe by expanding Toyota’s software development capabilities and positioning Toyota Motor Europe as a trusted partner in future global Software‑Defined Vehicle development.”
