Toyota Hands Over New Avensis For BENergy
Toyota (GB) PLC has donated a new Toyota Avensis T4 to BENergy the youth group of BEN – the motor and allied trades benevolent fund – for use by one of the charity’s regional managers, Val Moore. This support for BEN and BENergy confirms Toyota (GB)’s commitment to the charity.
Founded in 1905 BEN provides practical help, support, advice and friendship to more than 15,750 men and women and their families every year. BEN raised more than £11 million in 2003; the majority of which goes to support the nearly 16,000 people at home or in one of the four residential care homes across the UK including a specialist unit for disabled young people in Rugby, and a work place day care centre in Coventry.
BENergy was the name chosen for the recently formed BEN youth committee, which focuses on the needs of younger members of the industry. The committee is made up of representatives of the many motor manufacturers in the UK. BENergy’s mission statement is to secure the future of BEN by injecting the energy and enthusiasm of the young to raise awareness and support, ensuring relevance to the future generations it will serve.
The Toyota Avensis, already a 5 star Euro NCAP winner for safety and recently awarded Fleet car of the Year by Fleet Excellence awards, will be a very useful addition for BENergy with their day to day running of the business.
