Toyota Hilux Hits Double Top with Second Commercial Fleet Best Pick-Up Award

4 December 2017

The Toyota Hilux has powered its way to a second successive Best Pick-Up title in Fleet News’ Commercial Fleet Awards.

The mighty Toyota remains top choice for Britain’s fleet operators, the latest, eighth generation model seeing off all-comers with its built-in strength, reliability and lasting quality.

In making the award to Toyota at a ceremony in Birmingham on Thursday, the judges stated: “The Hilux is the workhorse of the industry – it is virtually bomb-proof on all terrains.

“It’s outstanding off-road, but also great on the road, with strong driver appeal and a long list of safety equipment fitted as standard. This is a real ‘go-anywhere’ vehicle.”

Neil Broad, General Manager Toyota and Lexus Fleet Services, said: “Last year’s Commercial Fleet award was a great debut win for new Hilux. With this second successive award it’s proved it has the strength-in-depth to give fleet customers the ideal combination of rugged performance, driver comfort and safety and unmatched reliability.”

Toyota offers fleet customers a wide choice of Hilux models to suit their needs, including single, extra and double cab body styles. The current model builds on the success of its predecessors, benefiting from a stronger ladder chassis, a reinforced deck, greater towing capacity and improved all-wheel drive performance. For the driver there’s a more comfortable cabin and advanced equipment and safety features. A Toyota Safety Sense active safety package is provided as standard or offered as an affordable option, according to model grade, including a Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Warning and Road Sign Assist.
