Toyota Hilux wins best used pickup title in the 2023 Carbuyer Used Car Awards
The Toyota Hilux has a payload of up to more than one tonne, so while driving home with a trophy strapped to the deck wouldn’t put much strain on the suspension, a new honour will add a touch of extra lustre to the model’s already formidable reputation.
The world-renowned “go-anywhere” model has today been named Best Used Pickup in the 2023 Carbuyer Used Car Awards.
Bestowing the award, the judges commented: “Tough, reliable and versatile, the Toyota Hilux has the core requirements that buyers look for in a pickup truck nailed down. With a warranty of up to 10 years, it’s a top-class used purchase in every respect.”
The warranty cover, of up to 10 years/100,000 miles, is automatically applied to any qualifying Hilux when serviced in an authorised Toyota workshop – whether the vehicle is new or used*.
Since the original model was launched in 1968, Hilux has constantly evolved to become a vehicle that combines rugged dependability and off-road strength with stable and comfortable on-road handling. Over more than half a century it has also kept pace with technology innovations and adopted more efficient and powerful powertrains. Earlier this week, Toyota announced the 2024 launch of a new flagship model for the range, the new Hilux GR Sport II. This promises even greater on and off-road performance, with increased track and ride height, new dampers and enhanced brakes, plus powerful GR Sport styling.
