Geneva motor show
Toyota had an impressive line-up of debut models at the Geneva motor show, led by the world-first appearance of the Toyota C-HR crossover. Mobility technology to help blind and visually impaired people
Toyota’s vision of mobility for all isn’t limited to cars and trucks. It is developing wearable technology that can help blind and visually impaired people find their way safely around public spaces. Read more here.

Milan debut for Setsuna concept car
Toyota is rethinking the car as a family heirloom with the new Setsuna concept, a model made largely from wood designed to age beautifully as years and generations pass. The car will be unveiled in April at Milan Design Week, where Toyota will be represented for the first time. Read more here.

Toyota GB joins the pledge for parity
Toyota is joining in the auto industry’s commitment to bring more women into senior roles, taking up the “pledge for parity” to close the gender gap. Read more here.

Ship ahoy!
Moving from wheels to water, Toyota has reached an agreement with a nautical partner to work on technologies, production and parts for the marine industry. A concept of the first craft to be designed under this partnership was unveiled last week at the Japan International Boat Show. Read more here.

New plant news
Toyota has completed a new engine plant in Indonesia, bolstering the country’s status as a vehicle and powertrain production hub. It has also expanded its Zarate factory in Argentina, adding a thousand new jobs for regional Hilux production. Read more here and here.

The Avensis maybe Derbyshire-born, but it has proved its worth as an Arctic adventurer, taking TV presenter Gareth Jones on a odyssey through the snow and ice of Finnish Lapland. Read more here.

Toyota makes a winning start
A Toyota Camry netted its first victory in NASCAR’s biggest race of the season, the Daytona 500. Denny Hamlin took the win in his Joe Gibbs Racing car, just one hundredth of a second ahead of fellow Camry driver Martin Truex Jr. Read more here.
