First details on new Prius
The debut of the fourth generation Prius will be one of the key news events at the Frankfurt motor show next week. Ahead of the reveal on 15 September, some early details and images of the new car have been released. Read more here.

Toyota prize for Britain’s top tradesperson
Toyota is again supporting the Britain’s Top Tradesperson competition, hosted by Screwfix. The man or woman who carries off the title will also win the keys to their choice of a brand new Toyota Proace van or Hilux pick-up, equipped with all the gadgets they need for their work, with an on-the-road value of £30,000.

The competition is open to tradesmen and women nationwide, across all kinds of skills. The winner will demonstrate excellence in their trade, whether it’s practical skills, a successful business launch, or new ways of connecting with customers and delivering satisfaction. Entries can be submitted up to 4 October.

Toyota invests in intelligent vehicle research
Can you imagine a car that is incapable of being involved in a collision? It’s one of the future possibilities being explored in a new collaboration announced this week between Toyota and two of the USA’s leading technology research bodies, Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Building a carbon-neutral hydrogen fuel supply chain
Toyota is joining a public-private initiative to set up a carbon-neutral supply chain for hydrogen fuel – as used by the new Mirai fuel cell saloon. The trial project in Japan will look at how carbon can be removed from every stage in fuel production, storage, distribution and supply. Read more here.

Toyota spreads the safety message
Toyota’s autumn safety campaign in Japan is bringing together people of all ages to help improve road safety for older people – statistically the most vulnerable group in terms of traffic fatalities. Children in particular are being encouraged to help senior family members understand the risks and take steps to improve their personal safety. Read more here.
