Mirai motors on, and on…
Mirai, Toyota’s hydrogen fuel cell saloon, has set a new benchmark for production electric vehicles by clocking up more than 300 miles on a single tank. The official test was undertaken by the USA’s Environmental Protection Agency, the body that sets the standard for industry fuel economy data. Read more here.
Akio Toyoda welcomes new rally chief Mãkinen

Pixis Mega stands tall (and small)
Toyota has launched a new mini-vehicle in Japan, Pixis Mega. The tall (1,8535mm) four-seater is powered by a 660cc engine and is available with front and all-wheel drive. Read more here.
Toyota helps fund spinal injury centre
Toyota has given “last-mile funding” to support Stay in Step, a spinal injury recovery centre founded by an injured serviceman with his wife and family. Read more here.

That’s dirty as in the kind of mud-splattered, sand-blasted dirty that is all part of the fun and excitement of rallying. Toyota’s South African motorsport organisation and lead sponsor Castrol have produced the book as a how-to guide for anyone interested in special stage rallying and cross-country racing.
