Toyota Prius Tops the Poll in the Honest John Satisfaction Index 2018
It’s easy to claim that a car “ticks all the boxes,” but that’s exactly what the Toyota Prius has achieved in the Honest John Satisfaction Index 2018. Analysing feedback from more than 10,000 UK motorists, the consumer advice and reviews website has declared the latest generation of Toyota’s self-charging hybrid hatchback to be the nation’s best all-rounder.
Owners were asked to rate the cars in key areas such as reliability, fuel economy, practicality, performance and ride comfort. They also judged qualities including build quality, ease of use, safety and repair costs.
Prius duly delivered the highest rating overall, at 95 per cent. Its impressive tally included a 10-out-of-10 result for reliability, reinforcing the reputation of Toyota’s hybrid electric technology for long-lasting, hard-wearing quality.
Prius’s popularity is reflected in the owners’ reviews section of the honestjohn.co.uk website, where in every category the Toyota scores no lower than four-out-of-five, with top ratings in fuel economy and the how the car drives – the latter reflecting the strong dynamic quality delivered by Prius’s TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform.
RAV4 was another top performer for Toyota, being the highest ranked SUV in the new index.
Daniel Powell, honestjohn.co.uk Managing Editor, said: “ Toyota enjoys its best ever result in the annual Honest John Satisfaction Index, with Prius and RAV4 both rated number one for reliability in their respective classes.
“Prius is also the UK’s best-performing car for owner satisfaction, with an unbeatable score of 95 per cent. Drivers give it consistently high scores for build quality, ride comfort, safety and fuel economy, and praise for its practical and driver friendly cabin.”
