Toyota Proace Electric
The Proace Electric is a battery electric version of Toyota’s medium-duty panel van that adds a powerful dimension to the Toyota Professional range. Alongside the compact Proace City Electric, it signals the Toyota’s commitment to applying different electrification technologies to meet different mobility requirements.
With an official driving range of up to 205 miles**, Proace Electric gives customers access to the growing number of low and zero emission zones. For business users working in urban areas, the driving range means daily recharging may not be necessary, minimising their vehicle’s downtime.
Further business user benefits include fast charging to 80 per cent in less than one hour with a 100kW fast charger and an eight-year/100,000-mile battery warranty as standard. Customers can choose between two lithium-ion battery options to suit their requirements with 50kWh or 75kWh capacity.
Toyota Proace City
Toyota made a robust entry into the compact panel van market with Proace City, a model which delivers equal best-in-class qualities in terms of cargo length, cargo volume, payload and towing ability. It is available in standard and long forms – the latter being both longer overall and having a longer wheelbase.
Both have a cargo area that’s big enough to accommodate two Europallets. Respective load volumes are 3.3 and 3.9m3, while the one-tonne payload is up to 350kg greater than some rivals. If that carrying ability is insufficient, Proace City can haul loads of up to 1.2 tonnes.
Toyota Proace City Electric
The Proace City Electric is Toyota’s second all-electric LCV, available in standard L1 (4.4m) and long L2 (4.75m) wheelbase forms. Its practicality for work is not compromised by its EV powertrain: it matches the load capacity of the Proace City ICE models, with up to 4.4m3, plus an 800kg payload and 750kg towing capacity that equal the best in its EV class.
Itis ideally suited to fleet and small businesses who need capable, reliable transport they can use to access the increasing number of urban low and zero emission zones, and for customers keen to reduce the environmental impact of their business. It also provides a valuable option to support business tender applications which specify the use of zero emission vehicles.
Proace City Electric is powered by a 134bhp/100kW electric motor, driving the front wheels. A 50kWh lithium-ion battery enables a driving range of up to 161 miles** when fully charged. The unit is located beneath the load compartment floor, avoiding intrusion in the cargo space.
Hilux is one of Toyota’s best-known models, respected worldwide for its ability to take the toughest driving conditions in its stride. It is the conqueror of both North and South Poles and a three-time winner of the gruelling Dakar Rally. While those credentials reinforce its quality as a robust and dependable workhorse, Toyota has constantly refined its comfort, handling, safety and equipment specifications to make it a genuine all-rounder for both business and leisure needs.
It is available with 2.4 and 2.8-litre engines, the latter powering the top-of-the-range GR Sport, Invincible X and (in addition to the 2.4 unit) Invincible Double Cab models. Across the entire range, Hilux has a one-tonne payload capacity and the ability to tow (braked) loads of up to 3.5 tonnes.

Toyota Corolla Commercial
Toyota has introduced the benefits of its wider Corolla range updates this year to the Corolla Commercial – the market’s first self-charging full hybrid electric van.
The updated 2023 model matches its Hatchback and Touring Sports passenger car counterparts in adopting Toyota’s new fifth generation hybrid technology. The upgraded 1.8- litre powertrain delivers more power, faster acceleration and a more rewarding drive while maintaining the van’s high fuel and emissions efficiency. The system’s principal components have been comprehensively redesigned to save weight, reduce losses and improve performance – changes that include the introduction of a more powerful lithium-ion battery. Corolla Commercial further gains the latest Toyota Safety Sense package of advanced safety and driver assistance systems, with more functions and increased hazard detection capabilities.
The van’s cargo-carrying qualities are undiminished, with 1,326 litres of loadspace, the ability to carry a 425kg payload and tow up to 750kg. The conversion from Corolla Touring Sports to Commercial includes a rubber load space lining, full bulkhead grille, interior light and 12v power outlet – work that is carried out by Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK in the Business Revenue Centre at its Burnaston car plant in Derbyshire. Corolla’s “home grown” quality also includes an engine supplied by the TMUK Deeside factory in North Wales.
Corolla Commercial offers customers a perfect solution for meeting the need to reduce carbon emissions without compromising the flexibility and reliability businesses – in particular small enterprises and sole traders – require.
