Toyota’s Good for Cricket Prize Draw raises more than £290,000 for local clubs across Great Britain and Northern Ireland

16 December 2025

Toyota is celebrating the successful culmination of its inaugural Good for Cricket Prize Draw across Great Britain and Northern Ireland, with a total of £290,710 raised in 2025. The initiative was launched earlier this year as part of Toyota’s partnership with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Cricket Scotland and Cricket Ireland.

Introduced with the long-term goal to support grassroots cricket, the prize draw is helping clubs raise vital funds for equipment, kits, coaches and facilities. More than 700 cricket clubs across the nation signed up for free this year. Each club was allocated digital tickets for supporters to purchase, with 100 per cent of proceeds going directly to the participating clubs.

Among the top fundraising clubs, Hoylandswaine Cricket Club in Sheffield raised an impressive £10,265, while Ockham Cricket Club in Woking raised £5,355 and Whitley Bay Cricket Club £3,770.

Whitley Bay Cricket Club explained how it will make good use of the funds: “We had a catastrophic fire in the clubhouse in May so the money will go towards restoring the building to make it a welcoming place for all senior players, juniors, parents, family and friends.

“We have been building up our junior section and this year have started a girls’ section. The fire has set us back years, but we will continue to build back better.”

Each ticket sold gave the entrant the chance to win from among more than 50 prizes on offer, in a prize pool valued at more than £200,000. Three lucky top-prize winners also received a brand-new Toyota vehicle:

  • 1st prize: Rayyan and Aadam, from Glasgow, supporters of Stainland CC, won a Toyota bZ4X
  • 2nd prize: an anonymous supporter of Swinbrook CC won a Toyota C-HR
  • 3rd prize: Sophie Tudor, from Wolverhampton, a supporter of Wightwick & Finchfield CC, won a Toyota Corolla

A milestone year for Toyota’s cricket partnerships across the UK

The success of the Good for Cricket Prize Draw marked a major milestone in Toyota’s first year as Principal Partner to the ECB – an ongoing partnership that sees Toyota support England’s men’s, women’s and disability cricket teams, alongside fostering the growth of grassroots participation nationwide, encompassing all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Built on Toyota’s Mobility for All vision, the partnership sets out to increase recreational participation with the long-term goal of growing the game and getting more people to play and watch the sport. In its first year, Toyota’s series of initiatives – alongside Good for Cricket – helped to deliver on this goal, with highlights including:

● Toyota’s investment into junior cricket programmes has supported almost 70,000 children between the ages of five and nine across the UK and Ireland enabling them to experience cricket.

  • In England and Wales, the ‘All Stars’ programme (ages 5-8) reached 66,000 children, of which over 4,000 received free bursary places funded by Toyota, bringing the total number of free places to 7,000 this year.
  • In Ireland, the ‘Smash It’ programme (ages 5-9) will support more than 1,600 children in its first year with Toyota, with 245 receiving Toyota-funded bursary places. In addition, 181 participants received free international matchday tickets, providing an opportunity to watch their cricketing heroes live.
  • Toyota partnered with Cricket Ireland’s ‘Cricket Connects’ programme and supported the delivery of a multi-sports camp in Belfast for 150 children this summer, helping deliver valuable cricketing experiences to people and groups who typically do not have the opportunity to access cricket or other physical activities.
  • Toyota debuted its Title Partnership for ECB’s Get Set Weekend, which forms the foundation for Toyota and ECB’s partnership. In 2025, more than 37,000 participants from 1,732 cricket clubs were involved, making this a record-breaking year.
  • Toyota became the first Official Champion Partner of Disability Cricket and Title Partner of the Disability Premier League (DPL). Through this, Toyota is helping to grow Disability Champion Clubs, expand participation beyond the men’s teams and inspire both the current and next generation of disability team players, volunteers and fans who make disability cricket happen.
  • Providing ever-present support for cricket across all formats of the game, Toyota was also announced as the Official Automotive Partner for The Hundred.
  • Active involvement from more than 100 Toyota Centres engaged with thousands of people across local communities, providing materials, volunteer support and community-driven engagement across the country to support local cricket teams, players and fans.

Scott Thompson, President and Managing Director at Toyota, said: “Through our partnerships with the ECB, Cricket Scotland and Cricket Ireland, we aim to inspire both the current and next generation of players, volunteers and fans who make cricket happen. The success of the Good for Cricket Prize Draw not only demonstrates the impact our cricket partnerships have had in its first year, but also the passion within local cricket communities and their eagerness to support their local club.

“We’re excited to continue making real-life impact over the coming years within the game of cricket and look forward to seeing what the Good for Cricket Prize Draw can achieve next year.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Toyota will continue working alongside the ECB, Cricket Ireland and Cricket Scotland to further grow participation in the sport at grassroots level, as well as giving clubs the tools to help increase local community involvement and creating more opportunities for players, volunteers and fans at every level of the game.

The Toyota Good for Cricket Prize Draw will return for a second year, continuing its mission to support and enhance grassroots cricket across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
