Wendy Is Back On Track For Formula Woman Challenge
Wendy Sprules is seeking to fulfil her racing ambitions this autumn as she challenges for a seat in the Formula Woman racing series. Wendy, 36, from Guildford, narrowly missed out on the final stages of the women-only competition last year, but is determined to make the grade this time around.
She has no shortage of inspiration as she works almost side-by-side with a state-of-the-art Formula 1 racing car at the headquarters of Toyota GB PLC at Great Burgh, near Epsom. The sleek machine is parked in the atrium of the company offices, where Wendy is a senior analyst in the IT department.
Away from work, Wendy takes every chance she can to get behind the wheel, putting in fast laps at track days at Brands Hatch, Bedford and, closer to home, at Dunsfold, where Formula Woman is based.
“I enjoy working for Toyota and the fact it is a company that’s involved in Formula 1 racing makes it even more special. I’m looking forward to the opportunity of showing that speed and racing skills are not the preserve of men,” said Wendy.
