Toyota GB Releases Museum of Starts Films During PyeongChang Games, Highlighting British Athletes’ Olympic and Paralympic Journeys

Toyota provides a unique insight into the personal stories of three members of Team GB and four members of ParalympicsGB as they moved up the sporting ranks in their journeys to PyeongChang, in a series of films to be released across social channels.

In the films, entitled Museum of Starts, each athlete talks about an object, such as their first piece of kit, or an important object from their story.  They show that every impossible has an inauspicious start, with hurdles to overcome on the way.

In the first film Billy Morgan, who’ll be competing in the Snowboard Big Air event in PyeongChang, talks about a medal he won in the British Acrobatics Championships before he switched to snowboarding.  He trained for the European Championships but his acrobatics partner broke his ankle, so he wasn’t able to go.

In the second film, Olympic flag bearer and skeleton competitor Lizzy Yarnold MBE, talks about how her tough training regime as she switched from Heptathlon to Skeleton included a tin of tuna for breakfast, which she now detests.  The third film features speed skater Elise Christie talking about the gold skates she earned for becoming world champion and how she battled disappointments along the way.

The four Paralympic films in the Museum of Starts series will be released during the Para Games in PyeongChang, which begin on 9 March and will include skier Millie Knight, curler Hugh Nibloe, biathlete Scott Menagh and snowboarder James Barnes Miller.

The films are the latest iteration of Toyota’s Start Your Impossible global theme for inspiring the world to move, in its role as the Worldwide Mobility Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The ‘Start Your Impossible’ platform aims to inspire people across the globe to achieve their goals, no matter how unrealistic or unachievable they may at first seem.
