Driving Schools Turn To Toyota Hybrids With CA Cars

17 April 2015

Yaris Hybrid’s smooth and easy performance and reliable and economical character make it a great proposition for first-time drivers and driving schools. CA Cars, one of the country’s largest suppliers of driving school cars, is backing the Toyota with an order for more than 40 vehicles, equipped with dual controls.

The family owned business, based in Leicester, serves customers nationwide. It specialises in hybrids and its latest order, organised through Toyota Fleet Services, will provide more learner drivers with an ideal introduction to hybrid. The cars can also be a cost-effective and environmentally-aware choice for driving schools.

Clara Gibson, CA Cars General Manager said: “As a business offering professional advice to potential and existing customers, we are pleased to use Toyota to support our growing operations.

“We are proud to specialise in hybrids and believe Yaris has the ideal characteristics for a reliable and economical driving school car. It’s prompted a great reaction from our customers, who appreciate the money they can save on fuel and running costs.”

Dave Watson, Managing Director of No Gears Automatic Driving School, is one of the satisfied customers. He said: “We changed to Yaris Hybrid because of the fantastic fuel economy. It has cut our instructors’ fuel bills by half, which is a huge saving given the amount of miles they do.

“We have also had positive feedback from our pupils, who absolutely love them. Our instructors rate them as a great car for teaching in, as well. As a national automatic driving school we think Yaris Hybrid promotes our image as a progressive business.”

CA Cars is offering its customers the choice of Yaris Hybrid (automatic as standard) and 1.4 D-4D diesel-powered models with manual transmission, both fitted with dual controls by He-Man. As an established Toyota customer, it will be extending its business with Auris hatchback models, offered to the driving school market for the first time.

Stuart Ferma, Toyota National Fleet Sales Manager, said: “We are delighted to provide the benefits of Toyota hybrid technology to driving schools and to further develop sales of Yaris Hybrid and Auris into this important market. Hybrid engines work at their peak performance at slow speeds, making them a great choice for driving instructors.”

The vehicles have been acquired with assistance from Toyota Financial services and supplied through Listers Toyota.
