New Waiting List Launched as Toyota GR Yaris Proves a Sell-out Success

Adored by automotive media and pure driving enthusiasts alike, the Toyota GR Yaris has become an official sell-out success. UK order books are now full for this year and next, prompting the opening of a new waiting list for those eager to own this universally praised performance car.

It was the passion of Toyota President Akio Toyoda himself that ensured the GR Yaris was put into production, a model that perhaps more than any other exemplifies his promise of “no more boring cars.” Designed and engineered with direct input from Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team and their championship drivers, it’s a genuine thoroughbred, but with an affordable price tag.

Built on a bespoke platform, powered by an all-new 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine and using a new GR-Four permanent all-wheel drive system, it brings rally-style handling and performance to a road-going supermini. Its quality is reflected in an ever-growing array of awards that attest to its giant-slaying character, regularly outperforming more powerful, exotic and costlier rivals.

The huge public demand has resulted in all the new cars destined for the UK having now been snapped up for the coming 18 months. This isn’t the end of the story, however, as we are opening a new waiting list from next week so that prospective customers can put their name forward to be first in line when the next allocation of vehicles is confirmed.

Prospective GR Yaris owners will be able to add their names to the waiting list in the GR Yaris section of the Toyota UK customer website, Toyota.co.uk, from 12 July. The closing of current order books does not affect the status of any customers who have already placed an order and are awaiting delivery of their car.
